Immortal Throne features multiple additions and alterations over Titan Quest. The main addition is a new Mastery titled Dream Mastery: available to new players from the start of the main campaign, it is a magic-focused skill that relies on illusion and stasis effects to disrupt enemy groups.
The Anniversary Edition combines both Titan Quest and Titan Quest Immortal Throne in one game, and has been given a massive overhaul for the ultimate ARPG experience.
If you beat the Titan at the end of normal TQ, a portal will open up that takes you to chapter 4 (the Immortal Throne area). IT also changes some things in the normal game, so people should install both to begin with.
In TQIT, you could reach level 60+ on Legendary, my record was 67 or something when I was farming with that particular character alongside finishing the game (the max level there is 75).
The base AE game is still good so it's not like you will suffer if you don't have all the DLCs but the Ragnarok DLC is a very good pickup imo, so I'd recommend getting it. Atlantis isn't quite as good imo but if you can get it on sale you want to pick it up then.
