In the BIOS interface, navigate to Advanced > CPU Configuration. In this tab, make sure the AMD-V or AMD SVM is enabled. The specific path and the virtualization technology name may vary depending on different BIOS versions. Press F10 to save the changes and then exit from BIOS.
[How To] Enable/Disable AMD virtualization in BIOS
- Open BIOS menu.
- Go to Advanced- > IOMMU and enable/disable AMD IOMMU. B. AMD SVM.
- Go to Advanced -> SVM Mode and enable/disable AMD SVM.
AMD-V technology allows for the handling of virtualization tasks through processor extensions, traps and the emulation of virtualization. As a result, tasks through the operating system (OS) were essentially eliminated, vastly improving VM performance on the physical server.
From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration > BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > Virtualization Options > AMD Virtualization Technology. Select one of the following: Enabled.
- Open your bios by MASHING delete when you turn on or restart your computer.
- Go to overclocking tab on the bios.
- Look for “CPU feature” or something that have a similar meaning.
- Then find SMV(or AMD-v in some motherboard) and enable it.
